An excellent read By Kindle Customer I can't understand why a previous reviewer wrote that this book was "extremely enjoyable" and yet gave it only one star! I hope others haven't been put off reading it because of this. A Lesson in Love is another little gem of a book by Gervase Phinn and probably the best of his excellent Village School series. It's very well written and gives a pretty accurate glimpse into rural village life in modern day Britain. Maybe the rich Yorkshire dialect Phinn employs in certain passages could be off putting to some readers but for me it just adds to the richness of the dialogue. My one fear is that this is very possibly the last book in the series as the author appears to tie up most of the several threads in the narrative in the last few pages.

Every page either has you rivited by an intense battle, on the edge of your seat with anxiety or cheering for the powerful and beloved characters. Your heart feels every bit of happiness, anger, compassion, suspence, heartache and love that each and every one of these characters experiences. The more of this book you read the more sad you get, because it means it has to end. I recommend this book to all ages, it's a nail biting page-turner

This book reminds me of Avatar, only in a sea-setting with even more character development and intertwined plot lines. I was pleasantly surprised with lots of action, battle scenes, and suspense, without skimping on literary skill. S.R. Atkinson is an amazing storyteller, as she paints scenes so vividly you almost forget that the book is fantasy; she doesn't leave out any details, and her skillful imagery makes Breathing Water that more thrilling. I really recommend this book to anyone who is looking for their next page turner!

Though she didn't understand everything in the book I was able to explain some things to her and she loved it. She didn't want me to stop reading. I told her I couldn't just read all day because I had chores to do so she offered to do my chores for me (like washing the dishes, sweeping the floor, and folding the laundry) just so I could keep reading. So while she was doing the chores I would read to her. She doesn't normally offer to do chores for me but she really loved this book. I also really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait for the next one. This book has given the Twilight saga books some big competition.

Environmental waste and several conflicting organizations come into play. The plot has several layers that interweave through out the story. Right from that start the reader is in put in the middle of the action. An organized chanting protest that lays the foundation and setting for the story.Well paced and well written. A great book for those looking for a deep story. Well worth your time and I highly recommend it.

Gallagher really kept me entertained with conflict at every turn By Ben Walls As someone who has family involved in environmental cleanup groups, I've always had a hand a strong perspective about keeping our planet clean and green. I picked up this book because I figured it'd be an interesting read about a topic that I enjoy.A.J. Gallagher did a wonderful job at keeping the plot rich and interesting at all points in the book. The story is about so much more than the main conflict of waste management. Gallagher modeled the characters after real people with real problems, and this adds to the realism of the book as things begin to go awry at every possible angle. The book is serious at its core, but Gallagher's knack for comic relief really help this book to be colorful and versatile.Great story, great book!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Real page turner By Alyssa Husk A.J. Gallagher does an amazing job of painting a picture with words. This author grabs your attention right from the beginning. It was a definite page turner. Even though the story came from his imagination it paralleled with reality. This was due to the fact that we are now dealing with environmental waste, profits, indecision, and corruption. That is why I love the book so much. The book makes you think on these things with a new perspective. This is because you actually get some insight into what some of the characters are thinking which is quite refreshing. If you are looking for a good story to get lost in then the Kill Factory is a good book for you!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Hard Book to Put Down! By John M. Danielski This a clever, action-packed, well written adventure with plenty of enjoyable plot twists. The main character is daring, resourceful, and stalwart and the heroine is likeable if somewhat picaresque. The villain has many of the characteristics of a Bond villain, being larger than life and having a dastardly plan to bring himself great international power. The author has a fine grasp of Napoleonic lore and his ability to integrate it seamlessly in the plot is masterful. The author's writing style seems a mixture of John Le Carre, Bernard Cornwell, Dan Brown, and Robert Louis Stevenson. This is a wonderful and unexpected blending of several genres: spy novel, code breaking adventure, treasure hunt, and Napoleonic saga. I greatly look forward to more adventures of the hero, Jack Starling.

Jack Starling is a character in the vein of the great literary detectives - and like his pulp fiction ancestors, I'm keen for more adventures. Truly an excellent first novel.

An introverted woman is overwhelmed by all the people living inside her when she comes to see psychotherapist, Dr. Freyn, for help. As she slips into a chair in her therapist's office week after week, she does not know who she is anymore. When her weekly sessions hit an impasse, Dr. Freyn encourages her to release her internal companions so they may tell their own stories.

As Dr. Freyn shows her pictures--a different one each week--and asks her to tell a story based on the pictures, the patient leads the therapist through a maze of interconnected relationships, madness, suicide, growth, and synthesis as she achieves a deeper connection with herself. As her characters spin a web of narratives that span the latter half of the twentieth century, the boundaries between fantasy and reality, truth and lies, and sanity and madness become blurred as the past and future attempt to reinvent each other.

Telling Stories is the tale of one woman's confrontation with her fragmented self and her journey to self-understanding through the stories of the internal characters who haunt her.

Helpful, Hopeful, Wise By Pat Schneider Deborah Partington’s novel, Telling Stories, traces a remarkable journey – a hero’s journey, one might say -- but Penelope’s rather than Odysseus’. A deeply introverted woman, confused by the shifting images of the many selves she feels herself to be, is challenged by her psychotherapist to respond to pictures he gives her. Each week a new picture; each week a story that she creates in response to the picture. The stories arise “from the remnants, bones, fossils of a childhood not entirely left behind in this mirage of adulthood.”Partington is particularly able to navigate the journey. She writes beautifully, lyrically: “We were clichés. You, the wind. Me, a November leaf scuttled in the waste of our breath.” And knowledgeably within the world of western literature. Characters appear and disappear in her stories, like a braid, or a knit fabric. Artfully, deliciously, she offers touchstones, sign posts, phrases by Eliot, Auden, Plath, Rich – never pretentiously, but loved intimately and understood well through her achievement of an MFA in creative writing.Similarly, Partington’s own training as a psychotherapist is used subtly, giving the reader a double vision: what is happening to the woman as lover / seeker / pilgrim, but also to experience subtly the silent but intensely present therapist who believes that telling stories is the oldest form of therapy. In the space created between them, he accompanies her through listening and receiving her words. She describes him as “the canvas of the sails . . . Sails harness the wind, much like your words, “please come through” harnessed me, my lost self to the hour of grounding.”Telling Stories, it seems to me, is an offering, a suggestion to the reader. For me as a woman and as a writer, the way seems familiar. A woman’s way, knitting together images into stories that bring patterns up from the under the surface of lived experience. Ultimately, intuitively, seeing and understanding the patterns of our own stories may heal the broken psyche. It may not be too much to say that it is Penelope, weaving, who ultimately brings Odysseus safely home.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Well thought out and compelling but challenging! By Serafina Mezzanotte I thought this was an interesting premise for a book . . . the author’s own training as a psychotherapist informs the story about a deeply introverted patient who barely knows herself. Dr Freyn, the therapist, recognizes that she has multiple narratives in her head, not necessarily multiple personalities a la “Sybil” but multiple points of view that seem to live together and cause her anxiety. It’s kind of hard to explain. They don’t seem to be making any progress on their sessions so Dr Freyn encourages the patient to let each of these multiple viewpoints tell their own story each week based on a picture that the doctor shows. The result is a web of somewhat interconnected stories about things as mundane as Christmas decorations and as deep as eternal love. The hard thing for me was that it was a long book and it was difficult to keep track of the main internal narrative when each chapter is basically a short story that itself has a hard time keeping track of the fine line between fantasy and reality. It’s one patient, with fragmented personalities each getting a turn, and each telling a story about something not necessarily related to the rest of the book. The author delves deeply into each story and the thought processes of each “personality” are very well thought out and compelling, though it just felt like a lot to keep straight as the book went on.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. The Power of the Story By Kendra Lee Deborah Partington skillfully weaves short stories into a compelling narrative that uncover glimpses into the psyche of the (unreliable?) narrator. The result is both compelling and unnerving, an unflinching look at human nature, struggle, inertia and triumph. I found myself caught up in the complexities of the narrator's emotions, her frustrations and despair. At the same time, the book is not without hope and light. They just come from completely unexpected places. The framework of self-discovery through storytelling allows the reader space to examine his or her own life in light of the narrator's own revelations. The push and pull of the story and the narrative that lies in between keeps the reader struggling to decipher what really lies behind these stories. And the literary references sprinkled throughout the book add to the challenge of figuring out how one who possesses such intellect and such advantage can be so utterly, wholly emotionally stagnated that life has dwindled down to nothing more than a bleak series of mundane routines.Relief on comes when she discovers that there is power in the story. And there is freedom in the telling.

An embittered poet silenced by a series of personal blows, she returns to her native Ireland after the death of her estranged mother, and begins to unravel. So often women are portrayed as victims, but Eva has to confront her own difficult nature as well as her family's clouded past.

It speaks to so much: the legacy of our parents, the new Ireland, addiction, grief...but the plot never becomes too much. There is wit and humour in even the bleakest of passages. Doreen Finn has created a heroine of our times; like the best kind of real heroines, Eva is complex and at times frustrating, but you will root for her from beginning to end. I inhaled this book at first sitting, and will now re-read it so I can revel in the gorgeous language.

FORGET WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THE NATURE OF MAGIC. In a world where an industrial revolution is powered by magic, Tyen, a student of archaeology, unearths a sentient book called Vella. Once a young sorcerer-bookbinder, Vella was transformed into a useful tool by one of the greatest sorcerers of history. Since then she has been collecting information, including a vital clue to the disaster Tyen's world faces. Elsewhere, in an land ruled by the priests, Rielle the dyer's daughter has been taught that to use magic is to steal from the Angels. Yet she knows she has a talent for it, and that there is a corrupter in the city willing to teach her how to use it -- should she dare to risk the Angels' wrath. But not everything is as Tyen and Rielle have been raised to believe. Not the nature of magic, nor the laws of their lands... and not even the people they trust. AN EPIC NEW FANTASY ADVENTURE BEGINS.

She has consistently brought life to worlds and characters that leap off the page and capture readers imagination. This the first book in her new Milleniums Rule series looks set to please both old and new readers alike. This series delivers all the fantasy aspects that we have come to expect from her with the added touch of magic, romance and even angels! Step into the world ( or worlds!) of Ms Canavans imagination and be transported far away from the boring humdrum existence we live in and into her unique story. The tale begins with Tyen who is a young man studying to be both an archaeologist and a sorcerer. He lives in a world where magic exists and is used to power machinery but unfortunately magic is running out! He finds a sentient book that has been made from a young woman called Vella. Vella has secrets though and protecting her puts Tyen in danger and he starts a journey that will take him far away from everything and everyone he knows. This book is a story within a story though as simultaneously we learn of a young woman called Rielle who lives in a land controlled by priests who work for Angels. Using magic is the prerogative of the Angels but there are those who would risk their lives and steal magic. Rielle is one of the few who can see the stain that using magic leaves and that means it's possible that she too could learn to wield it but doing so would mean she would be cast out and punished. Events take a turn that Rielle hadn't expected and soon her life is thrown into chaos .Wow! Two stories about very different people and each one feels completely different. Tyens tale is the least emotional as he's quite a pragmatic guy but he is about to learn more about just what is real and what he himself is capable of. His world is rife with corruption and greed but he is fast learning that his own existence could play a huge part in saving those he cares about. As for Vella, now that's possibly the most upsetting part of all this. Murdered by a powerful sorcerer and yet not truly dead but transformed into a living book, creepy and very disturbing.Rielles part of this adventure is the most emotional and passionate though as through her we experience romance and first love. Unfortunately nothing runs smooth and the events that transpire lead her truly into abject misery and yet she's such a strong personality that she seems set to survive just about anything. It's an emotionally draining storyline that the author takes us on with Rielle and quite difficult to read at times. Both these stories are left as cliffhangers and I'm sure readers will be clamouring for the next instalment . Such diverse and interesting characters populate this book. My heart broke for Rielle but Vellas story tugs at me too. Interesting supporting characters and I hope we meet the sassy Sezee again but did I mention Angels? Oh yes there are Angels briefly in this book and Im very sure that we will be learning a lot more about them.Such a well crafted story. Absolutely fascinating world building going on and at some point you just know that they are going to collide and I for one can't wait! It took a while to really grab me but when it did boy was I hooked! I need the next book in this series and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to read this. Get this book!

Tyen is a student of magical archaeology; he studies at a University that funds explorations by discovering (or, depending on your perspective, robbing) magical sites around the world. He discovers a magical book that contains the consciousness of a woman who lived more than 1000 years ago, and his story is primarily about his attempts to keep her safe while fleeing from forces that might misuse her or simply lock her away.Rielle, meanwhile, is a young and relatively privileged woman living in a constrained religious society. Her tale is one of forbidden love, dealing with restricting social mores and mysterious religious taboos. While the world-building in this novel is careful, I have to admit that I found the book dull and disconnected. The two main stories barely interact, even by the end of this 560-page book, and it is unclear whether the two central characters even inhabit the same world at any point in the story. Further, the stories held little interest for me. Tyen's story begins with the incredibly interesting idea of the conscious book, but afterwards devolves into hundreds of pages of the same basic idea: he is being pursued by certain individuals, he barely escapes them and arrives at a new area of the world, and they quickly pick up his scent again. Rinse and repeat, and you have almost his entire half of the book. Meanwhile, Rielle's story is a little more interesting and varied, but it does not intersect with Tyen's in terms of either theme or plot, and her story is slow to pick up momentum. To be fair, however, the climax of her story at the end of the book is extremely intriguing and original. Finally, the ending is completely unsatisfying. Absolutely nothing is resolved, and the book does not even end on a note of finality. It feels as though both stories stop at completely arbitrary points, mid-narrative.So I have to say that I was very disappointed with this book. I read it over an international flight and deliberately left it on board because I have no interest in ever reading it again.

Not Up to Her Usual Standards By Amazon Customer ***This review contains spoilers***I’m not sure what is going on with Trudi Canavan, she has written some really good series in the past, I really enjoyed the Age of Five series and the Black Magician series, but her newer series, this one and the Traitor Spy series, are not very good. The latest of her writing is this book and to me it is her worst book so far (The Magician’s Apprentice is not too far behind this one). I had really high expectations for this book, I assumed her last trilogy wasn’t that good because she was writing in the same world as the Black Magician trilogy and it was a minor story that got fleshed out more than it should have. I hoped with this series being in a new world, and with the really cool cover art, that this book would go back to the quality of writing she had in her older series, but I was quite disappointed. I purchased this book in hardcover because I thought it was going to be good, but I know I won’t be doing that for the rest of the series (if I both reading it)This book is written in two POVs, Tyen is a male student in a school for teaching magic while Rielle is a female in a male dominated society where only a select few are allowed to use magic. I found that even with the flaws in the Tyen’s story it was the much better story and I was always disappointed when the story switched over to Rielle. The writing in Rielle’s story was better writing to me but I found her entire story to be such a waste of time.In Tyen’s storyline the school that he is going to does not seem like much of a school, the story never shows any of the teaching that goes on, it only shows the students and one professor on an expedition where they are robbing graves to increase the wealth of the school. With the students basically being slave labor and not receiving anything for the work that the do during the expedition. It was during one of these expeditions that Tyen finds a magic book, that used to be a person, and the conflict of his story is created. He wants to keep the book and learn from it where the school wants to destroy it because of its abilities. I enjoyed the interactions that Tyen had with the book and really wished they would have fleshed that out more, including deeper explanations on the magic in the world. The major problem I had with this story was in the author’s writing, she has some major problems with subtlety and foreshadowing. Either things are so insanely obvious that there is no point of even reading or the complete opposite, the events that occur don’t make any sense with how the story or character is being portrayed or with very little detail in the story telling that I’m not even sure what is happening. There were a few places I had to re-read several times to even understand what had just happened.I found the Rielle POV to be the better written of the two stories but I found the actual story to be such a huge waste of time. To me it seems like the entire story is written to introduce us to the Angel, who we only see for a few pages and then he is gone. The entire storyline seems to be written to force Rielle to be punished (again some not very subtle foreshadowing makes this obvious from the beginning) and to drive her to meeting the angel. This would be okay if they provided some good explanations/history on how the society became the way it was, but that is lacking in this story and it makes me not care about anyone in this story line. As we see early on Rielle has the ability to do magic but her society forces her to be unable to use it in an acceptable way which drives her to an inevitable confrontation with the priesthood. Along the way she falls in love and runs away with someone her family does not approve of and this drives her, in her mind, her to have no other choice but to use her magic. The church catches her and sends her off to be punished where we finally meet the Angel, whom I assume is going to be a much bigger part of the series now. I’m not sure what plans the author has for Rielle but I feel like she could drop out of the story completely and I would not care in the slightest nor would it seem to affect the overall story. The other thing I found pretty disappointing in this book was the magic, for a book that calls out the magic in its title I expected there to be more explanation of magic and its uses. Also Trudi Canavan’s other books had very elaborate magic systems with a lot of explanations on how they worked. This was completely lacking in this book, from what I understand of the magic in this book is that you can speed up or slow down the particles of the world (to warm them up and create fire or make it really cold) and that the magic is an intrinsic part of the world with the power of the user coming from how far away they can pull the magic from (the farther you can Reach the more power you can gather and the more powerful you are). There are offhanded remarks about being able to heal which isn’t really explained and there is an in depth explanation on how you can world hop but I found that to be quite confusing on how it actually made you change planets and how you used it to go to specific planets. All in all I thought this book could have been half as long, with Rielle’s story being completely cut out, and been a much better story. At this point I don’t know if I will continue with the series (I probably will because of my history with the author), but I know I won’t be purchasing any more of her books.

Excerpt from A Theory of Natural Philosophy: Latin English Edition, From the Text of the First Venetian Edition, Published Under the Personal Superintendence of the Author in 1763; With a Short Life of BoscovichThe text presented in this volume is that of the Venetian edition of 1763. This edition was chosen in preference to the first edition of 1758, published at Vienna, because, as stated on the title-page, it was the first edition (revised and enlarged) issued under the personal superintendence of the author. In the English translation, an endeavour has been made to adhere as closely as possible to a literal rendering of the Latin; except that the somewhat lengthy and complicated sentences have been broken up. This has made necessary slight changes of meaning in several of the connecting words. This will be noted especially with regard to the word "adeoque," which Boscovich uses with a variety of shades of meaning, from "indeed," "also" or "further," through "thus", to a decided "therefore," which would have been more correctly rendered by "ideoque." There is only one phrase in English that can also take these various shades of meaning, viz., "and so;" and this phrase, for the use of which there is some justification in the word "adeo" itself, has been usually employed. The punctuation of the Latin is that of the author. It is often misleading to a modern reader and even irrational; but to have recast it would have been an onerous task and something characteristic of the author and his century would have been lost.My translation has had the advantage of a revision by Mr. A. O. Prickard, M.A., Fellow of New College, Oxford, whose task has been very onerous, for he has had to watch not only for flaws in the translation, but also for misprints in the Latin. These were necessarily many; in the first place, there was only one original copy available, kindly loaned to me by the authorities of the Cambridge University Library; and, as this copy could not leave my charge, a type-script had to be prepared from which the compositor worked, thus doubling the chance of error. Secondly, there were a large number of misprints, and even omissions of important words, in the original itself; for this no discredit can be assigned to Boscovich; for, in the printer's preface, we read that four presses were working at the same time in order to take advantage of the author's temporary presence in Venice. Further, owing to almost insurmountable difficulties, there have been many delays in the production of the present edition, causing breaks of continuity in the work of the translator and reviser; which have not conduced to success. We trust, however, that no really serious faults remain. The short life of Boscovich, which follows next after this preface, has been written by Dr. Branislav Petronievic, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade. It is to be regretted that, owing to want of space requiring the omission of several addenda to the text of the Theoria itself, a large amount of interesting material collected by Professor Petronievic has had to be left out.The financial support necessary for the production of such a costly edition as the present has been met mainly by the Government of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes; and the subsidiary expenses by some Jugo-Slavs interested in the publication. After the "Life," there follows an "Introduction," in which I have discussed the ideas of Boscovich, as far as they may be gathered from the text of the Theoria alone; this also has been cut down, those parts which are clearly presented to the reader in Boscovich's own Synopsis having been omitted. It is a matter of profound regret to everyone that this discussion comes from my pen instead of, as was originally arranged, from that of the late Philip E. P. Jourdain, the well-known mathematical logician; whose untimely death threw into my far less capable hands the responsib

Left hand knows not what the right hand is doing By Pedantic Jesuit I am very grateful that Nabu reprinted Child's lovely edition of this important 18th Century work. The original 1922 bilingual edition was most thoughtfully prepared by J M Child, and exquisitely executed with financial support from the then new Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. As advertised, "This is a reproduction of a book published before 1923." I have seen the original, and I have seen other phototypical editions of pre-WWII books. As such reproductions go, the quality of this one is fair. Unlike the original, which uses rubrics (red print), this edition only uses black ink. The corrigenda (p. xix) and errata (pp. 469-470) of the original edition have not been corrected in the text. Some of the small print is a little faint. However, these minor imperfections come as no surprise. There is one oversight, however, which I find inexcusable. In the original page layout, the Latin text was on the left-hand page (the even page) and the corresponding English translation was on the right-hand page (the odd page). In this reproduction, there is a one-page offset, which means that the even pages ended up on the right and the odd pages on the left, and therefore the Latin and the English texts happen to be on the front and the back of the same sheet of paper, instead of side by side. In order to see the parallel passages, you need to flip the sheet. This is annoying enough in and of itself but there are several additional inopportune consequences. The page numbers (and the marginal summaries) are now on the inner margin, impeding searches. Furthermore, in 1922, the editors decided to deal with full page illustrations by placing them first to the right of the Latin text, and then, on the next two-page spread, to the left of the English translation, the illustration being identical in both cases for the reader's convenience. With the one-page offset, however, this means that Nabu gives us a number of two-page spreads (pp. 41-42, 79-80, 133-134, 137-138, 165-166, 169-170, 173-174, 183-184, 217-218, 221-222, 225-226, 231-232, 235-236, 239-240, 243-244, 341-342, 425-426, 429-430, 439-440) with a full-page illustration on the left-hand page and exactly the same illustration on the right-hand page!My complaints relate to a single error of judgement, viz., allowing a single-page offset to creep into the pagination. Nonetheless, I find that its consequences detract considerably, and needlessly, from an otherwise nice volume.

By b1y So Einstein was a spy due to the STATUE incident and blamed Oppenheimer; this books helps point that out. As an Illuminatis Boscovich gave everyone Relativity as the Natural Law in the 1600's and Einstein's wife copied it and translated it into a language that Einstein could copy verbatim. Others have studied it, misunderstood it and claim that Boscovich made a mistake on it; but no Einstein made errors in his calculations that are so PAINFULLY OBVIOUS AS BOSCOVICH'S work points out. Humiliati and Franciscan order Illuminati from the 1200's are behind all this.

As they climbed the wooded trail to the top of a ridge from where they could see houses down in the valley across from them, the four young hikers had reached the cave in the Ohio hills.

Shining a flashlight onto the bottom of the cave’s mountainous inner wall, they found evidence of some digging.

Their curiosity spurred them on to dig there too. Soon, the ground gave up the shape of a box.

Loosening its earthen grip, the four adventurers pulled the box from the hole. The box contained a necklace with an amulet made of a shard of pottery in it. Removing the necklace with an old piece of leather strapping attached to it, they examined the article.

Little did the quartet know of the adventure of a lifetime this item was about to take them on.

Ummmmm By Kindle Customer This book would have been interesting but the dialogue was horrible, I didn't know who was talking to who and why...The grammar was OK and so was the spelling but I couldn't understand the characters or the setting..I was pretty much confused...please don't write a third book unless you have a editor. Excerpt from New Zealand Moths and Butterflies: Macro-LepidopteraThe present work is intended as a guide to those who desire to collect or study our native Lepidoptera, and also as a book of reference to the general reader. In the Introduction I have first given an outline of the Transformations and Structure of the Lepidoptera. Then a brief sketch of the Darwinian theories respecting the origin of species and their special application to various phenomena exhibited by moths and butterflies, as well as a short outline of the general principles which have been followed in framing modern classifications oi the order. Next follow five chapters on the various groups dealt with. With a few exceptions this work only treats of what are, for the sake of convenience, termed the Macro-Lepidoptera. A similar work on the numerous and interesting species of Micro-Lepidoptera found in New Zealand may at some future time be undertaken. In conclusion, I have to discharge the pleasurable duty of thanking the numerous entomologists who have so liberally assisted me in the production of this work. First, and especially, my thanks are due to Mr. Meyrick, without whose masterly papers and 'Handbook' but little could have been accomplished. Next, to Mr. R. W. Fereday, who very kindly allowed me to figure many species of which he alone possesses specimens - in itself an invaluable assistance. I have also to express my thanks to Messrs. E. F. Hawthorne, H. P. Hanify, R. I. Kingsley, A. Nonas, A. Philpott, and others for the loan of specimens, and for much valuable information regarding the localities and habits of rare or local species. Lastly, I have to acknowledge the aid so willingly given by my lamented friend, the late Mr. A. S. Olliff, of Sydney.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. What more can be said about a book then when you enjoy a book enough to reread the book, let alone reread it a third time. I look forward to reading all your books. Thank You for sharing your stories.

Nate and Esther were a match made in heaven. Their path to love was not tarnished with violence, sex, or vulgarity. This book is a clean historical Christian romance suitable for young girls. Very enjoyable.
