Anabaa, midwife to Queen Latezia delivers the chloroformed royal of a prince. Joy is cut short among the midwife and her attendants, Qiaona, Constance and Lizbett when a stillborn twin expels from the queen's womb. As Anabaa flees through secret passageways in panic with the tiny purplish-black corpse hidden in her apron events unfold and the infant miraculously revives. The surprised midwife swells with relief but before she can make her way back into the birthing chamber of heirs and replace the king's infant with its twin and their slumbering queen-mother she realizes with overwhelming horror King Breretyn has returned to the chamber and taken up his firstborn son and heir from his queen's arms. In this summer solstice hour the king holds forth the newborn prince above the balcony hand railing to the roaring cheers of his subjects. As the kingdom is launched into celebration Anabaa succumbs to darkness in the knowledge she harbors its royal twin outside the palace walls.

Five Stars By jeanette skirvin from Albert Russo, internationally renowned award-winning author/poet; "You so amorously describe the separated twins that no parents could be indifferent to your words, which are not only full of poetry but are written in a style I have never encountered before. For example: you mention the baby's and mother's breathing and their anatomy (the latter usually repels me in scientific essays) in such a manner that one would believe you are the creator of these beings, in other words you breathe life into them."

After 10 long years of education and residency, Dr. Emmy MacKenzie decides it's time for a much-deserved vacation. But when she's traveling the British Isles, a twist of fate at the gates of the ancient castle of Duart hurls Emmy more than a hundred years into the past and into the arms of a magnificent Highlander who thinks she is his long-lost wife, Heather MacLean.

The 10 years since his new bride abandoned him on his wedding day have brought Connor MacLean, earl of Strathclyde, nothing but misery and bitterness, but that is nothing compared to the anger he feels when she shows up on the 10th anniversary of that day. Determined to punish her for the humiliations she dealt him, he is shocked when his wife insists that she is not his wife at all. Though he tries to cling to his anger, Connor cannot deny the attraction he feels for his mysterious wife, and soon he finds himself wanting nothing more than to take her in his arms and make her his.

When the truth of Heather MacLean's disappearance comes to light, more than just Connor's life could be destroyed. Choices will have to be made. Forgiveness begged. Second chances taken not just for the people of Duart but for Emmy herself.

Maybe it's just me, but the grammatical mistakes were not so bad that it interfered with the plot or characters. When I considered buying this book, the reviews made me waiver in my choice. Especially considering between the grammar comments, complaints with overused slang, and even the ones that compared this book, in a unfavorable light, to the Outlander series. I have a fond fascination with Scottish time travel novels, so I took the risk. I was pleasantly suprised by the novel. It had the classic Scottish time travel formula. American girl goes on vacation to Scotland. Girl goes back in time, and meets Sexy highlander. We get hilarious misunderstandings, fierce arguments, and steamy scences galore. I expected that from the synopsis that this book would be rife with painful emotional angst, which would have been fine, but it suprised me by being light and really funny, with special thanks to our main heroine, Emmy. As for the comparsion to Outlander, I saw nothing other than the fact she was doctor from America.I would have liked to have given this story a 5 star rating, but for me, I wanted a little more action. I realize it's simply a personal preference, but I did feel like the plot moved a little slowly for my taste. It wasn't that it was boring, the plot was simply pushed by the personal interactions versus physical action. It did pick up about half-way through, especially with the neat twist in the plot. I recommend this book for any one who likes funny heroines, sexy Highlanders, and mischeivous old men who can apparently gives second chances.

Great story but really needs a proofreader By Gryph Rivas This is a great story, very sweet and entertaining, but I have to admit that the poor formatting and lack of proofreading really annoyed me. Every time I came across an error it dragged me right out of the lovely story. With some basic proofing and editing, this would be a five star read easily. I really found myself liking the characters and relating to them.

By Kathryn D A Laird for All Time sounds like it's going to be horribly cheesy just from looking at the title and cover picture, but I really enjoyed it. As with all time-travel romances, the situations the characters are in sometimes stretch the reader's ability to suspend reality, but aside from that, the story was interesting with some predictable and also some surprising plot twists. I thought the way the time travel aspect was centered on her feelings and readiness to find love was a nice touch as was the way she proved that she was really from another time and not crazy.I hope to read other books by this author in the future.

In this thrilling crime novel by CWA Diamond Dagger winner Catherine Aird, a student’s last words are all that Detective C. D. Sloan has to go on in his latest case There are rumblings throughout the campus of the University of Calleshire, talk of a sit-in, of revolt, of H? Chí Minh, of discontent. Malcolm Humbert has been expelled, and the students are livid. Meanwhile, the faculty is equally out of sorts—Hilda Linaker just wants to finish her treatise on Jane Austen, Bernard Watkinson is tired of dealing with the female students’ vehement—and possibly dangerous—opinions, and Simon Mautby can’t find a lab tech to help with his ecology experiments. When someone breaks into a dorm room, leaving behind little evidence but a single kernel of corn, it’s time to call in the police.   But no one—not the professors, the students, or even the great detective C. D. Sloan—could have predicted murder. A young woman finds a second-year student slumped against a cloister’s column, covered in blood. Before he dies, he manages to breathe the words “twenty-six minutes.”   The brilliant and acerbic inspector C. D. Sloan, recently reunited with his assistant, Detective Constable Crosby, must connect a seemingly unrelated burglary to a senseless murder—with nothing more to go on than those eerie last words.

6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Not an easy read By Avid Mystery Reader I have read several of Catherine Aird's novels in this series and for the most part I find them quite interesting. Although they all tend to be a bit slow paced for me, I never had one that I really did not understand until now. When I finished up this one, I had to go back and contemplate what really happened. I think part of the problem was my lack of knowledge about WWI and WW2 era events that happened in Germany. I had to go back and think about world history and it began to make a bit more sense. I finally put the pieces together and realize that this is a very complex murder mystery in many ways. Again, part of the problem with content and figuring out the murder even when the villain was revealed is the fault of this reader being somewhat unacquainted with European history and the fact that this book was originally written in the 1970's (the current edition is a reprint of an earlier novel). I think I may be just a bit removed from this particular era of time which makes it a bit foreign for this reader. Others may find this novel fascinating as Aird does drop a lot of hints along the way about the who and why of the murder, which for a murder mystery fan is usually joyful events. However, even now that I have pieced things together I cannot say that Parting Breath was one of my favorite reads.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A clue in the words of a dying man By Michele L. Worley Oh, what is death but parting breath?- "Macpherson's Farewell" by Robert BurnsI recommend the unabridged audio recording by Robin Bailey to anyone who's interested; he's a great narrator, and his recordings of various adventures of Inspector Sloan have all been excellent. The University of Calleshire at the beginning of the fall term is a mass of discontent, among students and professors alike. The students' Direct Action Committee is incensed that Malcolm Humbert was expelled - and they want to use him as an excuse for a sit-in, to lure the University administrators into suing Humbert for trespass. The few sitters-out are grousing about their holiday jobs - particularly the ecology students, who had a massive amount of holiday work. As for the faculty, Hilda Linnaker (English literature) is melancholy that her magnum opus on Jane Austen is nearly finished, marking her upcoming retirement, Bernard Watkinson (History) is grumpy about putting up with female students, while Simon Mautby (ecology) is in one of his usual volcanic outbursts over the unavailability of good lab help to look after his animals so he can get away. The administrators' determination not to get the police involved with the upcoming sit-in is matched only by Superintendent Leeyes' resolution not to entangle the Berebury force in it. Unfortunately, Sloan and Crosby are called out to investigate a burglary - Colin Ellison, rising star in ecology, suffered the loss of his holiday essay and notes, together with the trashing of his room, the day before it was due. And on the day itself - the first night of the sit-in - another young ecologist, Henry Moleyns, is found stabbed, very professionally, leaving only the mysterious last words "twenty-six minutes".Are the theft and the murder connected? Why would anyone kill a penniless ecology student, fresh back from a bicycle tour of Europe? Why did Moleyns have a falling out with the committee and refuse to go near the sit-in - what happened to him over the summer, and where did he go? Then a second murder takes place, suggesting a possible motive - but for whom? And what does "twenty-six minutes" *mean*, anyway? This story is both a completely fair puzzle, and a very good story. As a subordinate thread in the narrative, we're kept up to date on Sloan's private life - he and his wife are expecting their first child, and it's affecting his brain. :) The child's birth occurs in _Some Die Eloquent_, if you're interested. Crosby, his assistant, gets a little respect for something other than driving, for once, as he unearths some interesting evidence, and lack thereof, while searching various rooms at the university.

6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. A Town and Truncheon Mystery By Eileen E. Gormly Detective Inspector Slon expec ted trouble when he was called in to the student sit-in at Calleshire University. The dons were nervous, the students excited - it seemed inevitable that there would be a clash of some kind... But murder?Another thoroughly enjoyable classic British mystery from Catherine Aird. In this, the eighth in her Inspector Sloan series, we have red herrings galore as well as the usual goodly quantity of clues. While it might seem a bit dated to some, involving sit-ins, etc., in fact it holds up quite well. Aird gives both sides (dons [professors, to you Yanks] & students) a sympathetic hearing - there is no condescending tone or false liberality - just people being people and interesting ones, at th at.I can recommend this completely and again wish that more of her books were in print. If you enjoy Ellis Peter's series of George Felse mysteries - you'll like these.

I didn't love it.It took me a long while to get into the story and care about what happened to the sisters, as their circumstamces seemed to me a bit fairy-tale like : two spinster sisters who dearly love each other and live in the countryside are separated by fate and betrayal, but their love runs deep enough that their paths meet again and again, even though men separated them (for the most part, men are no prize in the story; lusty, unfaithful or broken, they are creatures not to be trusted; as for Marsh women, they seem uncannily fertile as two of the characters become pregnant after just one sexual encounter)There are some dark events and secrets. The first half of the book definitely felt a bit drawn out to me- I was actually shocked to realise I was barely at 50% in my Kindle, I thought the novel was drawing to a close - but in the second half the story takes off and becomes more firmly ensconced in day to day reality, up to the fourth generation of the Marsh family. Some of the secrets come into the open, others remain buried. The whole story definitely held my interest, although sometimes it seemed it was going nowhere in particular - a story that meanders is how best to put it, I think. In the same kind of illegitimate birth story, I think a good other book is "the midwife's confession" by D. Chamberlain.

By jaffareadstoo From the beginning of this book I was completely taken into another world, to one of rural deprivation and where family secrets run as deep as the river which runs alongside the tumble down cottage which is home to the enigmatic Marsh sisters. In 1913, spinster sisters Nellie and Vivian Marsh eke out a bleak existence in the isolated Suffolk hamlet where dark secrets from their past are set to overshadow the whole of their lives. Fast forward to 1939 and London barmaid Birdie Farr’s story becomes inextricably linked with that of the Marsh sisters and as tendrils of the past start to intertwine, you know that life for Birdie will never be the same again. The story unfolds almost like beautiful cinematography; sometimes in slow motion and at other times in fast freefall. Time and place are captured so perfectly that I could sense the languorous heat of the summer hay field and felt the fast flow of the river as it took the Marsh secrets away.Beautifully written, this story really gets into the heart of soul of relationships; the love and rivalry between sisters is captured in tortuous detail and the heartbreaking pain of unrequited love lingers in hidden corners.Without doubt Spilt Milk is real joy to read and it is a story which will stay with me for a very long time.

The hits keep coming for the American legal profession. Law schools are churning out too many graduates, depressing wages, and constricting the hiring market. Big Law firms are crumbling, as the relentless pursuit of profits corrodes their core business model. Modern technology can now handle routine legal tasks like drafting incorporation papers and wills, reducing the need to hire lawyers; tort reform and other regulations on litigation have had the same effect. As in all areas of today's economy, there are some big winners; the rest struggle to find work, or decide to leave the field altogether, which leaves fewer options for consumers who cannot afford to pay for Big Law.It would be easy to look at these enormous challenges and see only a bleak future, but Ben Barton instead sees cause for optimism. Taking the long view, from the legal Wild West of the mid-nineteenth century to the post-lawyer bubble society of the future, he offers a close analysis of the legal market to predict how lawyerly creativity and entrepreneurialism can save the profession. In every seemingly negative development, there is an upside. The trend towards depressed wages and computerized legal work is good for middle class consumers who have not been able to afford a lawyer for years. The surfeit of law school students will correct itself as the law becomes a less attractive and lucrative profession. As Big Law shrinks, so will the pernicious influence of billable hours, which incentivize lawyers to spend as long as possible on every task, rather than seeking efficiency and economy. Lawyers will devote their time to work that is much more challenging and meaningful. None of this will happen without serious upheaval, but all of it will ultimately restore the health of the faltering profession.A unique contribution to our understanding of the legal crisis, the unconventional wisdom of Glass Half Full gives cause for hope in what appears to be a hopeless situation.

Review "Summing Up: Highly recommended. General readers, upper-division undergraduate students, and above." -J. R. Vile, Middle Tennessee State University, CHOICE

"As the title suggests, Barton gives an optimistic spin to the situation. He foretells rebirth through dramatic changes in tools and approach. Barton's optimism sets his work apart, as does his insightful overview of emerging technology. He examines specific online legal information providers and virtual alternatives to traditional practice." -Carey A. Sias, Law Library Journal

"Recommended to be read by all law school deans, law firm managing partners, government ministers for justice, law society bodies, national legal profession regulators, and all current and aspiring law students in the US and internationally." -Magdalene D'Silva, The Modern Law Review

About the Author Benjamin Barton is the Helen and Charles Lockett Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Tennessee. His scholarship ranges from bias in the judiciary, to the backgrounds of Supreme Court Justices, to libertarianism in the world of Harry Potter. His scholarship has been covered in Time Magazine, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Washington Examiner, Sydney Morning Herald, and ABA Journal. Excellent, Useful Look at the Current Legal Profession By Ray Campbell Benjamin Barton has written a very useful book on the state of the legal profession. The book is useful for what it includes - amongst other things, lots of data, clearly presented. It is equally useful for what it does not include - for example, rants and unchained opinions. Working through the data and the scholarship, Barton delivers a fair, clear look at where the practice of law stands today, and where it might go. If you are interested in athecurrent state of the legal profession, both this book and Deborah Rhode's The Trouble With Lawyers are worth your time.

I like testosterone-filled stories where barbarians cut heads and spill gore everywhere. I like computers and programming. I only marginally enjoy romantic comedie films, and then, only because I like how the girl's look. I don't like Ice-Cream, and this book is Filled with it.So now, I'll say it only once. If my wife hears it, I'll know it's comming from you and will make you pay.But I started the book yesterday, and finished it this morning. And don't you ever tell my wife I was crying during the karaoke scene, or else ...So what made me cry ? It's not good-sentiments, these make me gag, it's not fear, it's not the people (although they are marvelous), it's LOVE !Yes, while the subject could be treated in a cheesy way, Debora Geary manages the delicate equilibrism that keeps it from going overboard.Humor and surprises keep the reader alert, instead of leaving him/her dose in too many do-goodness.So I'm now awaiting for the next part of this new Series... and hope my wife won't see me crying when I read it next.

Fatouros At first I worried it wasn't going to have my beloved "Modern Witch" series characters. Silly me! Can't get enough Debora Geary's books. Continuation of Modern Witch series...Order for reading these books:Modern Witch (Modern Witch #1)Hidden Witch (Modern Witch #2)Witches on Parole (WitchLight #1)Witches Under Way (WitchLight #2)Witches in Flight (WitchLight #3)Reckless Witch (Modern Witch #3)A Witch Central Wedding (short story)Nomadic Witch ((Modern Witch #4)A Different Witch (Modern Witch # 5 - I haven't read yet)If you still need a Witch Fix from this "world":To Love a Witch (A Novel Nibbles title)To Have and to Code - Nell and Daniel's love story - I haven't read yet

Most of your favorite characters are in this book...mostly from CA. I love Lauren and Nat and I was so happy to read more about them. Debora gave us another inspiring book. This story to me was about chasing your dreams and overcoming your insecurity and faults. Jennie, Lauren and Nat are on a mission to help two witches on parole. Watch how Lizard and Elsie unlock and develop into wonderful witches and learn how to enjoy life like the family we have grown to love in Modern Witches.

"When Jamie Rowan was almost nine years old, he had an imaginary friend. . ." So begins a tale of discovery and wonder. Jamie, a lonely child of privilege, finds solace in a world of imagination and creativity, a world far more interesting than his own austere upbringing. Expected to grow up early and abruptly, Jamie becomes a young man of means and accomplishment, with little time for play. Until he realizes that his world is not exactly what he thought, and that the realm of imagination - not all of which is benign - has some very significant implications for the "real" world. Taking place in a time much like our own past, Maxxe Albert-Deitch's story explores the importance of creativity and responsibility, with action, romance, mystery and deceit taking place amongst wonders of food, galas, love, loss and the realization that some imaginings may be powerful enough to change everything.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Highly recommended By browncoat57 This book is an unusual cross between the worlds of adults and children as well as between fantasy and reality, and is though-provoking in the balancing act it creates between those worlds. It does feel very nostalgic, but it's a beautiful kind of nostalgia that transports you back to the days of playing "let's pretend", and, I think, reminds us not to forget them.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. The Talents on a Trek By Ronald Q. Smith A respectable addition to the series. This book is reminiscent of his book The Trek: Darwin's World, Book II (The Darwin's World Series 2) in that it is primarily the story of three people making their way in an earlier time. As a result there is less development of the characters and the effect of their "talent" on their modern world. I still enjoyed it very much. My main gripe is the cliff-hanger ending. I really prefer my books to be complete in and of themselves. I'm not sure I buy the time-travel part of the story either, but that's true of most time travel books I have read. In general, I just don't believe you can ever return home from a trip to the past. Chaos theory seems to indicate that your merely being there would change the world enough that there would be no going back. Oh well, I can overlook it for a good story as I have for other authors' stories.I will look forward to the next volume in the series. Hopefully we'll see more development of the characters that became so familiar in the first three books.

Enjoyable fiction when you just feel like being in another reality By John Larrison I'm sure you could find flaws in the character development and story line. However, for those who read for entertainment I think you'll like this book. There's adventure, special powers, heroes and villains. What more could you want in a book that prime members can read for free? I look forward to the next installment to learn the rest of the story.

I adore series, you get acquainted with all the awesome characters, and the characters in this serious are sultry, powerful, magical, and full of surprises. This story features Mel, a sultry, audacious, beautiful leopard shifter; Luke, a gorgeous powerful Alpha lion shifter who is moonstruck over Mel; Bob and Krista Mel's partners in crime, Tina who hires Mel to steal the Scarlet Emerald....What you'll find in this story; a cast of amazing impressive and engaging characters, spectacular story-line, powerful vivid scene descriptions, potent magic, vampires, witches, heart-rending moments, family issues, pent-up rage, emotions skyrocket, romance, spine-chilling suspense, and a cliffhanger conclusion leaving you awe-struck and yearning for the answers you desire.Mel knows in her heart that stealing the Scarlet Emerald may lead to a fate worse than death, but the payment for stealing it, means settling a long awaited score.....WOW fantastic fast paced well written read by a truly gifted author. The characters were convincing and certainly praise worthy. Mel is fearless as cat burglar, but she also sports an honorable persona; The powerful alpha finds himself in a precarious situation with the lovely leopard shifter as feelings towards her begin to flourish. I relished this story; it was fabulous from start to finish, and I eagerly await the next book. If you dote on shifter stories with romance and thrilling danger this is an excellent choice for your library. {I was given a romance arc for a completely truthful review}. In the world of shifters the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I recommend this book and the series.

Lady Beauchamp's Proposal, by Amy Rose Bennett

Review "I LOVED this powerful and emotionally charged dark and angst ridden Regency romance - it is full of secrets and suspense and brimming with raw sensuality and has a real taste of the gothic about it. It is an excellent Regency Noir read and if you enjoy books by authors such as Anna Campbell and Anne Stuart you will also revel in reading Lady Beauchamp's Proposal, a deliciously dark, dangerous and erotic foray into this genre." ~ A Reader's Review Blog, 5 stars "Set in London and Scotland in 1815, this beautifully crafted tale has all the feels!" ~ February 2015 issue of InD'tale Magazine, 5 stars. InD'tale Magazine's heat rating: 4 Steam Kettles = Slightly steamy sex with some description.

By Cathy Rackowski If you love historical romance, sensual reading, a Gothic atmosphere with a bit of Regency thrown in then Lady Beauchamp’s Proposal is the book for you. Author, Amy Rose Bennett, has given us a story that pulls from multiple genres and packs them all into one well written twist turning novel.Lady Beauchamp is a woman torn. She has suffered a wasted life in a dead marriage. It appears her husband, the Earl of Beauchamp, only married her because she fit the part of aristocratic lady. She, in her youthful inexperience, thought they had married for love. She couldn’t have been more wrong on that assumption. Her husband takes to a debauched lifestyle leaving his wife behind to do whatever she wants; he could really care less as long as it doesn’t interfere with his choices. To fill a lonely life she takes on running her home as a Lady of those times would and doing good works for the needy. She becomes a patroness of the London based Widows of Waterloo Trust. She can vaguely connect with this cause as her husband had served in the military (if you can call what he did serving) and she herself feels like a widow in this loveless barren marriage.Lady Beauchamp or Beth finds her quiet life upturned when she learns that her husband is in the throes of the deadly and highly contagious disease Syphilis. To make matters worse she finds out he is now determined to beget a legitimate heir, she knows this would only be a death sentence to her or any child that would come of this union. Again, the aristocracy must continue… the line must never die out. Beth knows she must leave; using her charity she makes up a fictional background, changes her name, escapes from her home and is off to be a governess in the far of wilds of Scotland.Enter our hero, the Marquess of Rothsburgh or James. Here is a man who is so jaded by his own misfortune in a mate that he cares little about anyone else but himself and his young daughter who he has sent away (much to Beth’s dismay when this is unveiled.). James is exhausted from the agonies of war, from the death of his wife, and disgusted with life in general. Beth appears at his door and suddenly intriguing games come to mind… he is intent on seducing her no matter the cost to this woman who is now under his care and his roof. This is a story of lust, lies, secrets and yes love. We are now in the aura of the world of the classic Gothic novel, the dark handsome brooding hero, the beautiful sad woman who is now dependent on this man and the isolated area in which he lives…. the outer reaches of Scotland.Ms. Bennett has set the stage for many a conundrum. Will our heroine fall for our hero’s machinations? Will our hero succeed in seducing this woman and will she in turn allow this seduction? The answer is yes to the above, the question is how do you live with all of this when you both finally realize you are not just satisfying a longing or lust but falling in love. How do you face any future with the amount of lies that have been told and secrets that have been kept by all of the parties in this drama? Ms. Bennett writes a steamy story here, the pages at times seem to burn up with this sensual tale. There are so many twists and turns you have to stay on your feet to keep up. Somehow our author makes this all work; there is a certain kind of magic when a writer can make you believe in the unbelievable. I was kept on the edge of my seat wondering how we were going to have our classic Historical Romance “happy every after”! How on earth was this all going to work out?It all works out because Ms. Bennett knows how to write; she has a complex well thought out plan which we the reader can relish. This is a very well written book, one that I highly recommend you try. If you don’t care for the sensual read I’d suggest you move on to another story. If you love a full package of sensuality, mystery, risks and conclusion then this is the book for you. I hope you like it as much as I did….. Enjoy now~

It had a perfect blend between love, betrayal, secret lover, devilishly handsome man and lady-in-disguise.Lady Beauchamp ran away from her fear of being infected by syphilis from her husband. She decided to go immediately and disguised herself as Mrs. Beth Elliot, the widow of Liutenant Elliot to work as governess in Eilean Tor Castle. What she didn't expect was that there was no longer a child in that castle, but instead the enigmatic father who wanted her service. Marquess of Rothsburgh, James Huntly, wanted Mrs. Elliot the moment he held her when she fell. She was truly beautiful with her angelic feature and blond hairs. He seduced her until she agreed to be his mistress. Soon, their hearts were thrown in a mix and everything started to go wrong. Her past started to catch up to her. Will their love survive from the secret and betrayal?I love this story so much. It was a bit controversial and difficult in Beth's case. She wanted to stay a decent woman, but with James's roguish smile, rakish grin and smoldering eyes, how could she refused the offer to be his mistress? Rothsburgh decided that the only way to make Beth stay was by offering her a decent job in her house as a housekeeper, but when his lust ruled over, he made an offer for more."My Beth. My love. My life's blood."The words in the story were really intense and sometimes I can hear my heart pound while reading it. Some made you blush, swoon and soon you will be in love with the hero. The marquess was really passionate and he valued Beth's happiness more than anything. He was willing to open his heart once more. He was arrogant at first but soon he was nothing but kind to her. He bare his mind, body, heart and soul to her.He exceeded the expectation. He had it all: brooding, loving, passionate and caring. This story may have some actions that I disagree about, but these were the one that brought the story alive. The setting of the story was really perfect. A place outside Scotland and it made the mood became mysterious and fierce. The description of the castle was really vivid that I could imagine walking around it.A must read!!!I received a complimentary copy in exchange of an honest review.

Steamy Regency with Sweet Hero and Heroine By Susan If you are looking for a Regency romance, steamy love scenes, with a Gothic undertone, this book is for you. I fell in love with the hero, James and the heroine, Elizabeth aka Beth. The book draws you in right from the first page. Elizabeth, The Countess of Beauchamp, is on the run from her husband Hugh, The Earl Of Beauchamp. She has found out that her husband, Hugh, has syphilis and he now wants Elizabeth to have his heir. Elizabeth knows that she has to escape so she runs to Scotland and masquerades as Mrs Beth Eliott a widowed governess for The Widower, The Marquess of Rothsburgh aka James. The story really takes off when Beth and James meet.I like that you don't have to wait till the end of the book for the hero to find out the real identity of the heroine. I like the twist that the author throws in. Make sure you have some tissues handy.Amy Rose, do I see a possible story about the mysterious Lord Markham? Hope so

Everyone faces decisions in life that will lead them down a path, either toward or away from their purpose (Romans 8:28).

Travel with Jo as her choices bring her full circle with the will and purpose of God in her life, when she must make the most important decision yet.

“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day … Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways” (Proverbs 4:18, 25–26, Niv).

Short & Tearful By Lesley - HSR I received a copy of the Cougar Tales Box set from Cheryl Holloway in return for my honest review. The Cougar Tales Box Set is made up of 3 short stories / Novellas:Father & SonItalian Basketball PlayerJamaican LoveJust like Italian Basketball Player this story was cut all too soon, but Overall I see great potential for this story as a full length novel..the characters are intriguing, to my imagination at least, the story line works really well too.I fell in love with Spencer & Joi all too well and i can only hope for where their story will lead but i am overly happy at the ending to this short story...i cried so much. Out of the 3 Cougar Tales i must say Jamaican Love is probably my favourite.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am fortunate to have the big D as my English teacher and have previously read his first book Tui Brown and the Spiral which is aimed at teenagers, based around the volcanoes in Auckland. His books are definitely worth reading. Go the big D!

From the few chapters I've read, it is a fantastic book just like his others. I hope this book will become very successful, just as I'm sure it will :)
