Reid and Evelyn By Janet Rodman Kirchein Howl My NameBy Celia KyleReid Bennett is a wolf sent to investigate a complaint of abuse against Brookfield's clan Itan who is a bear. Reid has anger issues because of an unhappy past. Once he arrives there, he gets into a confrontation with a man who is about to rape a young girl. He ends up killing the man. Unknown to him, he has killed the Brookfield clan's Itan. as a result, Reid is the new Itan.Evelyn Archer went to live with the Brookfield Clan after the death of her grandmother who raised her. She lives with her father, Patrick Archer the clan Itan and step sister Simone. Evelyn can no longer stand the abuse by her father and uncles, so she calls for help from the Southeastern Itan, Terrence. He sends Reid to investigate. Evelyn's father and uncles find out someone has called and reported them so they capture Evelyn and torture her for days trying to find out who called for help. Just as it is her Uncle Ezekiel's turn to begin the torture, in come Reid, He takes out two of her uncles, but Ezekiel manages to escape. With her father and two uncles dead, Evelyn helps Reid take over the clan and tries to bring them peace and safety. During this time, Reid and Evelyn realize they are mates. Before they can complete the mating process, Evelyn must heal from her torture, Reid must heal from poison gunshot wounds, he must try to convince the clan that he will protect them from all danger with his life and finally kill Ezekiel.I really enjoyed Evelyn's character. She saw injustices being done against the members of the clan and she did something about it by calling for help. She thought of the others in the clan even though it would bring punishment onto her. Reid was also interesting, he had anger management issues to work through. Everyone saw his gruff exterior but Evelyn saw so much more. She would talk back to him, joke with him and even be able to calm him when he went off. This story captured my interest from the very beginning. It had a very quick and violent start. Throughout the story, we see the evolution of Reid as he learns to rein in his temper, his instinct to kill. You also see how fiercely loyal he can be to those he feels responsible for, especially women and how he tries to convince the clan that while he has a temper, he will not treat them like the former clan leaders. This was a very good story. I would like to see a continuation of the series that will also be about the Brookfield clan and other secondary characters that came to help Reid heal the clan. I can't wait for the next book in this series.I was given an ARC to give an honest review.

By Dodie Stanton This story is full of real life human situations that are address in the first two chapters in a realistic way==not for the faint of heart.Reid is a werewolf in Terranc's bear who fills the role of enforcer. He saves a young girl from the neighboring Brookfield clan's alpha attack and ends up killing said alpha. When he calls Terrance to tell him of this killing he is told that now he's earned “the priviledge” of becoming alpha of this clan. The only problem is that he is a werewolf. Therein is his delema.The female lead character is Evelyn Archer and the dead alpha is her father. She is a werebear of said Brookfield clan. She was the one who called Titan Terrance of the Southwest bear clan asking for help in saving her clan members, both female and male, from the sadistic and insidious treatment meted out by her father and her uncles regardless of the family ties. Evelyn is one strong werebear who knows her intended when they meet and Reid feels the same too. There's no hemming or hawing over their attraction. It's just a given.We learn what makes Reid tick. From one passage Reid states, “I am not crazy. I am possessive. I do not glory in blood, but in retribution. I do not enjoy violence, but welcome it with open arms when it comes to someone who harmed I claim.” In another passage we read a little about what Evelyn thinks about Reid, “She liked his view, liked that violence was dealt with swiftly and permanently”. She reflects about their future, “I was focusing on the choices you're taking away in the short term but you're taking those choices away because of what you want in the future. You're not being controlling so much as you're trying to protect what we'll have.” Evelyn is one tough gal who isn't turned off by Reid's violent nature or job. She lives as a werebear and faces the violence in their lives as a fact of their nature.All in all I really enjoyed this story and can only recommend it for anyone to read. It is a great story. I did receive this as an ARC from the author for my honest review and I hope this review comes across as indicating that I really did like this story.

It grabs you from the very beginning and doesn't let you go til the end. The main male character, Reid, was just so sexy and realistic, it had me wishing for my own possessive alpha-ish male. And I liked Archer also, hope it's his next that's coming out. I wish it was a little longer cause I'm a bit sad it had to end.
