A very professional beginning By ernest james Very very good..well written: the language flowed and not a hitch in the story line and no stilted dialogues. The set of characters taken together somewhat over the top (too professional and a bit "Mission Impossible", but each character well drawn and believable and most important for me, all too human. The depiction of the Israelis rang true, which is not often seen in "Mossad Novels" (I call it that though it is obvious that the author's heroione is a free-lance ec-Mossad proffessional) written by authors who do not have direct experience of Israel and/or the intelligence community there..I especially liked the internal personnel politics between the old guard of devoted Zionists, and the new business school types large on career management. A very nice touch too that our main protagonist is not only ex-Mossad, but also a young girl whose loyalty to Israel is very emotional and in spite of her not being a Sabra and of mixed heritage.At first I was very disappointed as to the way it ended abruptly..its eemed to me to smack of speculation in a long series. However, after a while, I changed my attitude and saw the book more in the light of a pilot episode for a TV series presenting the potential story and the potential characters... testing the waters, so to speak.. and yes it did end abruptly, but it was at just the right moment.Do hope a continuation in the works
