Can a scorching affair with a bohemian beauty tame a motorcycle man with a dark side? Rachael Johns takes the wheel in the sexy series co-written with Megan Crane, Jackie Ashenden, and Maisey Yates. Travis “Cash” Sinclair values only two things from his days with the Deacons of Bourbon Street: his prized Harley Davidson and the man who gave it to him. But now Priest Lombard is gone, and Cash has inherited the Deacons’ clubhouse—not to mention its unexpected tenant. She’s exactly the type of woman he tries to avoid: all incense and art, with a sharp tongue that promises trouble. So why does Cash want to push aside those flowing skirts and lose himself between her legs? Billie Taylor fled a bad marriage to start a new life among the grit and glamour of the French Quarter. She refuses to let another man distract her from her dreams, especially an outlaw biker with nothing to offer except hot sex and an eviction notice. Cash is dangerous, with an untamed streak he tries desperately to conceal. He drives Billie wild, sending her too close to the edge for her own good. And she won’t fall under his spell—or into his bed—without a fight.Praise for Fire Me Up “As far as biker series goes, this one has certainly been a heck of a lot of fun! Okay but somewhat flawed By Donna Repsher I received an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review and here it is.First, when I requested an ARC of this novel, I did not realize it was part two in a 4-part series, which is probably why the beginning struck me as being very abrupt. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I was taken aback by her writing. Although I realized that I was reading an uncorrected proof, when I read the author's biography, I learned that she is an English teacher. As a former English teacher myself, I couldn't understand some of the many grammatical errors I found, everything from misused words, to oddly conjugated verbs, and an almost complete lack of understanding about prepositions. Admittedly, I'm a grammar nerd, and perhaps "at" and "with" are used interchangeably in Australia, where Ms. Johns resides, but trying to ignore them was unsettling to this reader.Having said that, I found myself liking her hero, Travis, even though he's portrayed as a bit of a jerk early on. I was a bookstore owner for 17 years, and if my landlord suddenly informed me that he was selling the building out from under me and wanted me out while I still had a signed lease, he'd next be talking to my attorney. However, as the relationship between Travis and Billie, our heroine, develops, his backstory makes his behavior more understandable. We get a bit of Billie's backstory as well, which makes some of her waffling about the hero understandable, but as one of the two main characters in this novel, she is not as fully fleshed out as the hero. She is, however, a likable, artistic bohemian, and honest, which was a big plus. Next, the relationship between Travis and Billie, while certainly hot, seemed to develop way too fast considering the fact that both are described as being gun-shy about relationships. Then, there's the mystery of who killed Priest, the head of The Deacons, and what the few remaining members of the MC will do about it. His death is one of the reasons Travis returned to New Orleans after a 10 year absence, and although not a primary reason for his return, there is also the rift in the relationship between Travis and his mother to resolve. While I don't read many MC romance novels, and since I requested this one thinking it was a standalone. the plot was interesting enough and there were enough unanswered questions at the end of part two to leave me willing to read parts three and four.

Motorcycles, Drama, Love By BookWorm221 I went into this book with no background information on it, this is the second book in a series and I have not read the first one, I thought it was going to be difficult for me to get into the story right away but that wasn’t the case and I really appreciated it, the fact that this can totally be read as a stand alone is a big plus for me.In Fire Me Up we meet Travis and Billie, Travis come back to NOLA to finish some business with people from his past and so it happens that he along with his brothers has inherited the building where Billie has her art gallery. From the get go we had sparks flying all over the place but it was so good how this sparks slowly became a fire, the attraction was there and through some pretty hot interactions the attraction grew and grew until … Well you can imagine what happened. The last half of the book seemed to go by really quickly and before I knew it I was reading the end, and it leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger! What I liked about this book:The motorcycle club scenario, this is new for me and some of the things I knew and some I didn’t and it was fun to learn. The relationship between Billie and Travis, that give and take and the banter. The relationship between the brothers of the club, it always fascinates me how males relate to each other like that. The mystery, there something that the brothers are trying to find out and at the end of the book it was still a bit of a mystery even though some thing were discovered throughout the book.I’ll definitely be reading the first book now, and the ones to come after this one.

By alwaysbooking This is the second book in the Deacons of Bourbon Street series, although I can't find record of what the first one was?? I knew I felt a little left out in the beginning like I was supposed to know a lot but didn't. It was still easy to fall along. I was thinking this book would be a version of the show SOA. Yes it had bad bikers but they didn't really do anything bad in this book. There is a "good" group of bikers in this book and a "bad" group of bikers. This book seems to be setting up a series of other books where the Deacons try to figure out who murdered Priest. The bad boy biker focus in this book is Travis aka Cash. He has come back because he was listed along with 3 other members in Priests will to take over a couple businesses on bourbon street. He just wants to come back sell everything and move on. His "brothers" have different plans, they plan on avenging Priest and they need Travis's help. Travis decides to move into one of the properties which used to be clubhouse. However Priest leased it out to an artist/hippie to run her gallery from. Travis moves right into the building hoping to move the tenant right out. He doesn't count on her being as stubborn as he is...Billie has just been blind sided by the fact that she may loose her gallery and has to deal with a super grumpy biker as a landlord. She left her no so great husband and ran to the only place she wanted to be. Not only does she work in her gallery she also works in New Orleans to make ends meet. She has finally gotten where she wants to be in life and in walks Travis. She refuses to be bossed around by any man ever again. However when Travis is bossy it's in a totally different realm. They are both fighting through things more Travis than Billie.
