The author has clearly done a significant amount of research into the various available models. The book gives good advice on affordable quality models for anyone looking for another purchase.

It's well written and easy to read and covers many of the current offerings of the 1911. I had two issues with the book: First, the photos do not match up with what is being discussed in the text. The photos and captions are excellent, but seem to be out of sequence with the content. Secondly, the author did a very good job of testing and assessing various models of the 1911, but didn't provide a table or some other compilation of the data to give the reader everything in one place.

Still learned a lot from it.
