By Author Chantal Bellehumeur Glow was a very original time travel book filled with suspense, mystery, and a bit of comedy.The intriguing story started off with a woman named Enioreh talking to her sister at a bar about her lack of career and heading off to the dance floor, during which she noticed somebody that looked exactly like her. It could have been an unknown twin or a clone.A man who had been staring at Enioreh previously casually approached her as though they both knew each other and commented on her change of outfit. Enioreh, having never seen the man before, presumed he had met her look alike rather than her. He confirmed having danced with Enioreh many times before and even knew her name. Enioreh continued to get glimpses of her mysterious look alike on the dance floor. She tried to inform her sister of the intruder, but was looked upon as though she had lost her mind. Nobody else seemed to notice that there were two of her.After finding a bracelet she had lost and noticing new charms on it, one being a type of memory device, Enioreh discovered an intriguing job ad that paid very well and decided to apply for it even though it seemed too good to be true. On her way to the unscheduled interview and at her destination she felt like she was dreaming, but everything that happened was very real. She was told that she had to go back in time and ensure the survival of a specific scientist for reasons I won't divulge.Enioreh goes back and forth from her present (our future) to the past wearing an invention called invisibands, which keeps her invisible. Of course, that does not stop other people from bumping into her so she must be careful of her moves... Other obstacles end up making Enrioreh's mission difficult, but I will let you find out what they are.I was hooked from the start and enjoyed the author's style of writing. The whole story was quite interesting, and I look forward to reading the second volume.

By Daniel Gross "Glow" is a new irreverent, yet deeply-humanistic and sophisticated sci-fi time-travel novel, which has, as the true soul of the novel, a feminist coming-of-age college-graduate-enters-the-workforce story to tell as well. For any of you out there who are fans of David Wong novels at all, it's basically kinda like one of those, but with arguably a lot more of a "beating heart" for the aforementioned reason...and it's surprisingly thought-provokingly original (not to mention quirkily-quotable) in terms of the unique spin it puts on all kinds of classic sci-fi concepts. It is also Shielding's very first novel (whom we can both comfortably assume has a cooler first name than you), and it's quite a dynamo of an effort 3 years in the making...which is why she deserves the best of support for what she's achieved here, and what she's already well-committed to achieving in the future! :)

The current one is not bad, but it doesn’t really have to wow factor By Streit When I bumped across this book, I wasn’t that interested or intrigued by the cover of the book. The intro managed to peek my interest just slightly. Then I just read one of the reviews on this book, the first one at the moment, and the story had me interested on the spot.I got to say, being a person who very, very, very, rarely dwell into sci-fi or time-travel genre when it comes to books or movies, surprisingly this book managed to enchant me. There’s this feeling I get when I read books, I am transported to that moment and situation, and that same effect came over me when I read this.I couldn’t stop reading and finished this within one sitting. Not every ‘novella’ manages to have the reader hooked, particularly me. But the author’s writing style and her balanced out plot managed that quite successfully. My special thanks to the first reviewer for her long and rather detailed (no spoilers there) review, ‘coz if it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t have bought this book.PS: a small suggestion, I think the book cover needs a bit of makeover. The current one is not bad, but it doesn’t really have to wow factor.
