“Max, is there a reason you’re breaking into your dad’s information?” I hear Nico yell from the floor above us. “Yes!” “Okay.” I stare blankly at him--I would stare at Nico, but he’s a floor above, so Max gets all of my stares right now. “You two are insane,” I say, when he doesn’t seem to notice. “Oh, I do this all the time at home,” Max says shamelessly. “So this is what I have--first off, whoever sent the email has to be one of the ones that know about the hidden HTV website. I checked the IP against all the hero and villain IP’s in the area, it isn't one of them. She--or he, possibly--is going through a private network, which means it’s probably from her home. There’s a small chance it’s from someone with powers.” “Why do you think that?” I ask. “Because of the letter,” he says. “You still haven’t read it?” I skim the letter, my eyes tripping over and stalling on one line, “I need to meet her, I have to meet her. I feel so alone.” “If she wants to meet me so badly, why didn’t she give us a name?” I ask as I finish the letter.

Ross' writing style. But I hate the fact that we don't see a lot of focus on older characters, developing relationships or building up a clear universe. Each tale is nearly completely independent of the others as each stars a new character and usually focuses too much on just the main character. This one is one of the worst offenders as Audrey is the focal character and the story has to dig deep to find anything really "new" that can be used to introduce more new characters.(Yes, in a series that has more than 20 named characters who have had significant page time RJ went out and adds more with this story.)I still like the series, but this is not one of the better books in the series. We really need a couple books that avoid adding characters and instead build on all of the relationships that already exist.

Great By Erik Miranda Ugh now I have to wait for book 12...good book...liked seeing things front the healers perspective...Aubrey...liked the 2 new healers that were introduced...also liked the superiors it was nice seeing them get some screen time or should I say book time

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. a good book in a great series By DMeyer The book starts off well enough and the first two thirds or so is a great read with some of the best writing to date, typecast part has issues. This is a transition book as a new overall plot kicks off. And the last part of the book shows it. It is a bit hard to follow and the direction changes a couple of times. I think the author was working a bit hard to get everything heading in the new direction.Perhaps it would have been better to expand the part before the "flash" and then end thus book at that point. Humm hard to say.Still overall a good read and well worth it. It is just that it started off to be great and ended up as good. This book shows that the author has a great grasp of writing females. She is getting better at making the guys sound different than the ladies, a bit of a problem from the earlier books. So overall a solid 4+. And .ore then worth the time an cost. Can't wait for the next.
