Author Tony Sparandara weaves a tale of a ragtag underdog track team coached by their crotchety coach, Angelo (Fish) Fischetti who has yet to win in any competition. He tells the story with warmth, integrity and humor. In the end, you will grow to love Fish and the memorable team members. You will laugh, cry, cheer, and believe that the human spirit can accomplish anything with hard work, luck, love, and a few surprises.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Westfield Wildcats Forever! By annakarina I am a huge fan of "rag tag bunch of misfits and their coach" stories of any kind and i LOVED this book. Loved it. Buy it, give it to your kids. Also, i want a Wildcats shirt!!!

By Dana Crofts This book appealed to me because I myself am a track athlete. While reading, however, I realized it's not a track story- it's a life story. Track is simply the common link for all of these individual characters in the novel- Fish brings them together. The story is nothing short of FANTASTIC. This is honestly one of the best books I have ever read! Hope to see more from Sparandara in the future!
