By Grady Harp South Florida author Deborah Brown books are infectious. She has a joie de vivre that pours out of every page of her books. Having read only the later books in this series (Books 5, 6, and 7) it is gratifying to see that this fun loving writer continues to pull of this Florida Keys mysteries series (The Paradise series) for a fully committed audience. According to the scant bio she states, ` I wanted to create books with a wide-range of unforgettable characters, with heat and romance, and lots of guns. It wouldn't be complete without a slice of humor and charm. My personal ad would read: There's nothing a new pair of shoes can't cure. Redhead. Long legs. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. An enjoyable experience! By Imanol Yunta Deborah Brown does a good job as a storyteller and this book is an example of the greatest fiction. I enjoyed the characters, which are quite funny and interesting and, in some way, make you learn about life and so on. I love books that do not only focus on the action and the story, but make you stop and stare about your life and think about what you are doing in this world.The books offer a balanced action/love, with some thrilling situations to make you excited and, of course, those love stories that do not keep you far away from the book for some time.t’s a recommendable read for those days you want to get rid of yourreality and daily routine and have something pleasant among your fingers. – but it is a read that will leave you smiling and isn’t dull whatsoever.The book describes a Florida that has very little to do with the famous "Sink, Florida, Sink" song by Against Me!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Can't Get Enough of this Series By Karen Ruggiero I read the Paradise Series Book 1 as a stand alone, before the box set got released. I was instantly impressed by the writing style of Deborah Brown, not to mention her character development, and the overall plot summary. Just like Brown says in her bio, these books are like chips; you can't just read one. I couldn't wait for Book 2 to come out, and by the time Book 3 came out, I was able to purchase the entire box series. Seriously, I just can't get enough of these. They draw you right in and don't let you go until the very last page.Main character Madison West has to face a lot of issues after inheriting her Aunt's beachfront motel in the Florida keys. It seems as if nothing ever works out for her quite the way it should. In book 1, she has to deal with all of the tenants her Aunt left behind - these tenants include fugitives, ex-cons, and drunks. She makes a new best friend, and together, they bring everything together. In Book 2, Madison has to deal with a whole new slew of issues. This time, her ex-husband Jackson, shows up. She had hoped that she would never have to see him again, but here he is, ready to cast havoc in her life. Right behind him, a murder takes place and It's now up to Madison and Fabiana to hunt the murderer down. Their lives are in danger, but again, they come out on top. In Book 3, a dead fisherman shows up. Once again, Madison and Fabiana turn into detectives, trying to solve the case. A lot happens to Madison this time - including getting arrested. This one was even more heart pumping than the previous 2 books.Loved every book in this series; truly couldn't get enough. Deborah Brown has so much talent, and it really shows through in all of her writing. Highly recommend this series - a great distraction from the real world.
