2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Love, Betrayal and Persistence By BC2 This is a story of two best friends, extraordinary love and betrayal. Keri and Sophia's relationship was like other long-time, childhood friendships, based on shared interests, secrets just between them and unquestionable trust. Or so Keri thought. Until she read Sophia's diary, looking for solace and memories after Sophia was killed, and instead found the story she never knew about that would change her own life forever. I found her quest to find Ryan admirable, frustrating, sad and exciting as I asked myself how I would have gone about it. Ryan seemed to be a dream to me - strong, sensitive, smart, handsome and screwed up enough in a way that creates a need for an ambitious woman to fulfill. Also, one of the strengths of this writing team that I love is their choice casting of characters that really shape one's life, like Big Pete, Sally and Stan. Their positions with the main characters offer that familiar tone that it could be someone's real life. It's a great summer read that has stayed with me and I highly recommend it any time of year.

By Christy Hilton-Hall The Summer Diary centers around a Diary that was supposed to stay secret and never read by anyone else as is with most diaries, to put your innermost thoughts that you don't want anyone to read. Sophie's Diary is found after a tragic accident and starts a whirlwind of questions, and with those questions Keri starts to seek out the truth. Will this truth lighten her heart or make her even more cynical about love? Only Sophie's diary and Ryan can help that. I was rooting for Ryan and his tortured soul throughout the book, my heart broke for him.This is not a lite hearted read but neither is it pitch black dark, it's a middle of the road in the gray.Good character development, easy to follow story line, all in all a good read.
