2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great Read By MeBerri Excellent read, Nick S. Thomas has created a science fiction/ military mashup that is both exciting and unique. The concept of time travel is not a new one, however the idea of a villain going back in time and changing history via Hitler was definitely one of a kind. I loved the way this author managed to seamlessly combine actual historical significance with utter and compete fiction. This was a great start, I can't wait to read the next book.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Fast paced alternate history thriller By Kitty Smith I love alternate history stories, particularly ones that deal with WW2 and Nazi Germany. Movies like Tarantino's "Inglorious Bastards" or books like Phillip K Dick's "Man in the High Castle" totally hook me in, so the description on "Time War" really intrigued me. Thomas has done a great job here, with excellent writing and a fast paced plot full of excitement. It's an interesting story, where Hitler is on the brink of world domination and Nazi technology exceeding anything anyone else has imagined.The characters are pretty good too. Corwin is a tough, unstoppable bad-a. He's the sort of guy who slings a Vicker's machine gun on his back, crawls up the side of a cliff in freezing weather with little clothing and no gear, just for a shot at Hitler. Chas is great too, bringing beauty, brains, and knife skills together. They work well together here, good dialogue and plenty of action too. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

The story is exciting and it was hard to put down. A group of super soldiers from the future have followed a villianious scientist into the past. When they arrive in 1943, they find that Villiers has already changed the past and WWII is not going as taught in their history books. Russia has fallen and Hitler is on the verge of ruling the world. Fortunately, they encounter some unexpected allies as they try to locate and kill Villiers and Hitler. Even with their enhanced abilities, it is near impossible. Villiers has had too much time to begin creating his own version of the super humans Hitler was always striving for. Great story. I'm looking forward to the next release.
