By Sandy Following in the footsteps (sorry, I just couldn’t help myself) of Foothold, this science fiction adventure, The Seasoning, is a well written second book in the series and met my hopeful expectations.The first book, Foothold, felt very realistic with uncanny insights to the trials and disasters that could be expected settling a new and unwelcoming world. The Seasoning equally brings the story in the direction that is sure to be the next step of discovery blended with disaster. Business guru, Brian Tracy, says in business most of your biggest problems will come with hair on top. People will cause more frequent, and bigger, problems and challenges than technology or the market place. Author, Dennis Ingram, captures this very well in The Seasoning.The new ship, Inspiration, came loaded with a ton of problems. With a tiny single settlement there is no getting away when those problems disrupt a formerly peaceful and in many ways and idyllic existence. But there is an ace up the metaphorical sleeve - and it is up in orbit.Who rises to the challenges will sometimes be surprising, and whole satisfying.

Want to read more like this By Jude dickens This is my first foray into science fiction and I will go back and read the author's previous book Foothold. It's a book that would appeal to a broad age group. Simple incisive language coupled with a good plot to keep you wondering

A good book in a really good series By Topoftheworld Unlike many self published books, this book and series has a polish and refinement lacking from so many others. The story and characters are deep and the pace is perfect for a series. You feel satisfied with a complete story in each book but with enough remaining issues that you want to read the next one. Few if any typos or grammar errors or editing issues.The series is about a group of 8 individuals that escape a dying Earth to establish a colony in another system. In this book they are joined by others, some not of the same caliber as the originals. The tension, conflict and resolution are very well written.The improvement from the first book to this one is though there are adult topics that would put this out of the YA realm, the number of sexual encounters is reduced and have stopped being such a big part of the story. Though I did not find them as offensive as other reviewers, I didn't think they added all that much to the story line.As a science fiction novel, It does create a full and believable universe with very few holes and just enough explanation for it to be believable. A perfect balance really.I would recommend this book for adult science fiction fans, action fans, and people just wanting a decently written book to read. For a book available on Kindle unlimited it is so refreshing in so many ways.
