By Amazon Customer Another great page in the Landon saga.. and Lee isn't even part of the clan.. but he is part of the fami-Lee (sorry, couldn't resist). The story catches your attention and doesn't let go until you feel the overwhelming desire to get to the next book. Lee is the kind of guy we all wish we could be.. just because you face a bit of adversity, there's just no good reason to give up.

He writes books that tell a stories that have action and mystery without resorting to some forms of gratuitous violence or sex. That is the reason I don't mind having my students read them.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Fast Paced, Clever Western By Jim Meals Lee is a fast paced western novel that finds author Tell Cotton on familiar ground. He gives us the story of Lee Mattingly, a man who drifts back and forth over the often thin line that separates an honest man from an outlaw. Tell Cotton exceeds at writing about such men because he always comes at his tale with a fresh perspective. Readers of the Landon Saga have already encountered Lee. He goes far back in the life of Rondo and occasionally calls him by his old nickname, "Button." But Lee Mattingly is not the sentimental type. When an attempt to become an honest hotel owner is thwarted by violence and chicanery, Lee takes off after the men who cheated him and the result is a tense narrative filled with action and fascinating characters. Tell Cotton is becoming a master of writing terse dialogue. He reminds me of Robert B. Parker at his best. Tell's dialogue provides fine character development while keeping the novel at brisk pace. Most memorably, the dialogue in Lee often sparkles with wit and insight. My reference to Parker was quite intentional. If you enjoy westerns with a hardboiled quality, Tell Cotton is one writer you need to check out.
