I have read all kinds of books by a large variety of authors. I am rather sure I have read roughly 2000 books through the years.As I like ancient fantasy I can honestly say that this book is worth reading, it is well written and the story is really good. Once you start reading this book you simply can’t let go, it’s full of action and you just can’t wait to know what is going to happened next.It is evident that Paul Coey by writing this book has proven to be fully equal to Stephen King (The Dark Tower) and J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings). Two of my favorites…Even though this book is ancient fantasy is also deals with everyday issues that everybody can relate to. Paul Coey is just good at mixing the fantasy with a grain of reality that makes this book one of the best I have ever read…. Thanks a lot for this book Paul. I really look forward to read the next book in this series.Søren Mose

Probably the most action of any Sword and Sorcery novel I have ever read By michael wood Extreme action almost made my head spin in a very realistic battle scene at the beginning of this book. The story opens with a city being overtaken by supernatural enemies. The population is slaughtered, raped and eaten, not necessarily in that order. Suddenly the point of view shifts to a messenger delegated to travel quickly to report the loss, and we never seem to hear from the first character. Very exciting Sword and Sorcery novel, although the fast action jumps quite a bit. Decent S&S, but many unanswered questions after I had finished.
