FREE versions of this great book are readily available on the net (legally) By LowEntropy This book is VERY readily available for free download - legally - on the internet. (Correct as at April 2013).For example, in adobe pdf format.Just use Google to search its title and add "pdf" at the end of your search term.It's a GREAT book for people interested in linkage mechanisms. As a design (mechanical) engineer, I've long been interested in (and know a fair bit about) straight-line motion mechanisms, and yet I learnt a tonne of stuff from this well-illustrated book.The book doesn't go into the maths of the mechanisms, so is very 'approachable'.

By Al Balmer I may eventually get over my irritation and buy this book, but I just wasted time downloading and opening the "sample." It consists of the cover page, credits to Google for the digitizing, the names of other involved entities, and a one-paragraph comment by the author. Not even a hint as to the actual contents of the book!
